about

Reg – 1997, Echo Park, with John Plymale. From the Majestic 7”.

Jon: Another Indoor Living outtake. Named after a fellow with whom we spent perhaps the longest month of our lives. He was probably as miserable as we were. Might be some kind of Chunk record in that the vocal doesn’t come in for a full 48 seconds.

Jim: That’s short for Reginald. Musically, this is a tribute to a certain player in the Seam band. Cheers, matey!

Mac: I guess Indoor Living already had too many mini-epics so this was consigned to the b-side bin instead; I like the way it lopes. I swear we used that bridge on another song somewhere…

Laura: Was it only a month? I swear it was two months long, that tour, two of the longest months in my life. We did have time to see Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia on that trip, and actually go inside. A rare treat when you are touring. Another image I carry fondly from that tour is that of a ferry we were aboard plowing through thick ice as we crossed the North Sea.
